  Section 13.7 – Derivative 7 Diminutive Noun اِسْمُ الْتَّصْغيْرِ Ismu t Tas-ghee-ri   This Noun implies minimizing, reduction in size or number. For example, the Noun عُصَيفِيْرٌ ‘ usai-fee-run means a small bird from a scale of فَعِيْلٌ fa-‘ee-lun which is a Tas-gheer of عُصْفُوْرٌ ‘ us-foo-run a bird.

Section 13.8 – Derivative 8 Tool Noun اِسْمُ الْآلَةِ is-mul aa-la-ti   It is a Noun from which the source of the Verb is determined and it is mostly through transitive Verbs and is only comes from the three-letter root word as in مِبْرَدٌ mib-ra-dun from مِفعَلٌ mif-‘a-lun meaning “sand”, مِطْرَقَةٌ mit-ra-qa-tun from مِفْعَلَةٌ mif-‘a-la-tun meaning “hammer” and مِفْتَاحٌ mif-taa-hun from مِفْعَالٌ mif-‘aa-lun meaning a “key”.

  Section 13.9 – Derivative 9 The Source اَلْمَصْدَرُ al-mas-da-ru Examples   As mentioned before. the source is similar to an infinitive in English language. The infinitive is a grammar term that refers to a basic Verb form that acts as a Noun and is often preceded by the word "to". Exceptions do occur though and It is not always preceded by to.   The source is that which defines the work that is being done like “to listen سَمِعٌ sa-mi-‘un ”. We know that its root is س م ع with form I س as you will find out later .
